According to relationshipsplus, there are many museums in Novosibirsk. Novosibirsk State Art Museum was established in 1957. The museum exhibits an extensive collection of paintings, drawings, icons, sculptures, arts and crafts and casting. The collections are based on art objects that were donated to the museum by the Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, the Pavlovsk Palace Museum and the State Hermitage. The Russian Art Department presents works by D.G. Levitsky, V.A. Tropinina, I.M. Pryanishnikova, I.E. Repin, V.I. Surikova, A.Ya. Golovina, Z.E. Serebryakova, N.I. Mashkova, R.R. Falka, P.P. Near the Novosibirsk Art Museum there is an unusual monument – a monument to a traffic light. It was erected in memory of the first traffic light installed in Novosibirsk in the middle of the 20th century. Next to it is a sculpture of a policeman-regulator, who were replaced by traffic lights.
Museum of the History of Architecture of Siberia named after S.N. Balandina Sergei Nikolaevich Balandin – Honored Architect of Russia. It was he who came up with the idea of creating this museum. He collected the basis of the fund with his own hands. Today the museum consists of 3 halls, where materials on architecture, art, history and archeology of Siberia are presented. The first hall contains materials on the history of architectural education in Siberia, the second – materials on wooden architecture, the history of the formation of Novosibirsk, the iconic architecture of Siberia, the history of the design and construction of the Opera and Ballet Theatre, the third hall is dedicated to the founders of the architectural school of Siberia. The most valuable collections include student course and graduation projects from 1924, photographic funds of the history of Siberian architecture, photographic images of plans, projects and models of buildings in Novosibirsk and other cities in the region, fragments and details of wooden architecture and original sketches, drawings, drawings, photographs and models of Novosibirsk theater of opera and ballet.
In 2007, the Museum of Cossack Glory opened in Novosibirsk. The museum tells about the Cossack life and culture, presents Cossack clothes, weapons and awards, as well as photographic documents. Museum of A.I. Pokryshkin was located in the school named after the famous Air Marshal A.I. Pokryshkin.
Novosibirsk Museum of Railway Engineering named after N. A. Akulinin was opened in 2000 on the outskirts of the city in the Soviet district. 30 km southeast Novosibirsk is Akademgorodok. This is a scientific center of Novosibirsk specially built on a separate territory. Its construction took place in the middle of the 20th century. Academgorodok stands on the bank of the Novosibirsk Reservoir, or in other words – the “Ob Sea”. It is a venue for various scientific conferences and meetings for the exchange of experience. In addition, this is a great place to relax, the Academgorodok area is environmentally friendly, there is a Botanical Garden, an Aquapark, a yacht club and entertainment centers. A historical and architectural museum is located near Akademgorodok. In this open-air museum, you can see samples of the culture of the peoples of Siberia – from rock paintings to chic estates. Of particular value are the brought buildings – the Spaso-Zashivir tent church of 1700, peasant huts, a Buddhist dugan (cathedral temple) from Buryatia, watchtowers of prisons and a windmill.
The Novosibirsk reservoir was formed during the flood of the Ob River near the dam of the Novosibirsk hydroelectric power station. Its area is 1070 sq. km, length – 200 km (enters the territory of the Altai Territory), maximum depth – 20 m. The Ob Sea is a favorite vacation spot for local residents and tourists. On its banks there are rest houses, sanatoriums and boarding houses, each of which has a beach. In the waters of the reservoir there are pike perch, pike, ide, burbot, dace, roach, crucian carp and perch, which attracts many fishermen.
