On the main island of Malta in the small Mediterranean country of Malta lies Bugibba, a typical summer holiday resort.

Bugibba is located in the northeastern part of Malta, about 30 minutes drive from the capital Valetta and about the same travel time to the airport. Bugibba is located in the St Pauls Bay area and borders the Salina and St Pauls Bay areas. It should be remembered that Malta is a small island and a small country, so as a tourist from Greater Sweden you will not notice when you cross these area boundaries, unless you happen to see a sign that welcomes you or says welcome again.

According to Pharmacylib, Bugibba is popular with many retired and emigrated Britons and it is also noticeable in the type of pubs and restaurants that are found there. You can get a typical British Sunday roast as well as you can find many alternatives to pub quizzes.

Bugibba is more affordable and a little calmer than, for example, St. Julian’s, which is why it is popular with families with children. It is mostly rocky beaches that apply, but most hotels have a pool as an alternative, and there are also small artificial sandy beaches.

There is more space than in St. Julians and Sliema, something that is also appreciated by families with children. There are many playgrounds and a lot of other entertainment.

For adults there are cinemas and many restaurants and places to have a glass of wine by the water. If you get tired of the sun and the beach, you can go to the cinema or maybe try snorkeling in the clear water. There are many diving clubs and opportunities to rent boats and jet skis if you want to go on adventures. If you want to try your luck, there is a great casino.

For the party-goer, cool parties are arranged at the trendy Cafe del Mar. Here you can swim in the infinity pool and then dance the night away to famous European DJs and drink champagne with the young and trendy.

If you are looking for more child-friendly activities, there is Malta’s aquarium. There you will of course find fish from the Mediterranean, perhaps the most exciting is the shark tank. Every day the sharks are fed and you can follow this exciting event in an underwater tunnel. If you think there is enough fish in the sea, the aquarium is still worth a visit, because outside there is a huge nice playground.

If you want to see something more than Bugibba on holiday, local buses from Bugibba go all the way to Valetta. It costs 1.5 to 2.5 euros depending on the season. If you want to get inland, it is better to go by transport arranged by the various hotels.

In the surroundings you will find many nice places to visit. There is a bird park a bit inland, and then there is the large park Kennedy groove. Next to it is Salina National Park, which offers nice walking paths along the old salt basins.

If you like walking, you have come to the right place. Along the entire coastline is a beautiful promenade. Here you can walk from Kennedy groove and all the way to St. Paul’s bay.

Bugibba and Malta have more than 300 days of sunshine a year, so it is a safe choice for you who want to enjoy the sun on holiday.
