We have lived a few intense days in the MWC 2014. Brands use this event to launch their top terminals or their most curious things. Not all arrive on time, in fact last year Samsung could not launch its Galaxy S4 and we had to wait. This year that have seen its launch but there have been other absentees as HTC that has not renewed yet, its One HTC.
We have also seen other interesting developments, such as the terminal Nokia Android, Huawei interesting proposals or a range of brands not as first-line that is doing quite well. Let’s see then How is the chessboard of Android after MWC 2014.
The high range is continuous
Who have arrived in time to launch their terminals star MWC 2014? Clearly two: Samsung and Sony. In fact Sony has become better than Samsung because it presented its terminal flag, the Sony Xperia Z2 on Sunday and when he officially opened the fair and we had the new terminal in exhibition. From my point of view, Sony has a somewhat more sober terminal, with very classic lines that appeal to me enough. And Samsung has some unique features which can decant the balance for some, like compatibility with its accessories wereable (Samsung Gear 2 and Samsung Gear Fit), the reader of fingerprints or Knox.
Nokia made a fork of Android
For my there is a second novelty of this fundamental MWC 2014 and we have a second fork of Android. Time only there was a company that had dared to create their own independent Google experience and was Amazon. But now Nokia are also encouraged.
Nokia launches three terminals with Android, but with a very hidden Android, more that at Amazon. Even if we see the version of the software we see that the word Android does not appear anywhere and the overall appearance approximates to Windows Phone, with a few tiles resizable (but not live).

But sincerely I don’t understand very well this strategy. With Nokia in the hands of Microsoft licenses problem should not be an obstacle to get cheap terminals and they are dividing efforts, and much to say, making the transition from low range to high range.
Terminals in general do not have liked, he is not an Android experience to which we are accustomed, but it shows that Android is free and anyone can do its fork. We have two examples.
Now there are great doubts. First, if Nokia will launch its applications store out of their terminals, as did Amazon. Second, if there are high-end terminals. Third, if this is a strategy before a possible unfavourable decision on the purchase of Microsoft by the competition authorities and in the bedroom will have a high range. The phablets reach its limit
We can not forget the phablets, a concept created by Samsung and that all major manufacturers have signed up. We have seen a great evolution in the size of the devices and my question was when we would see the convergence between a mobile phone and a tablet. The time has come.
Huawei has dared with a hybrid. A device which, in principle it is a 7-inch tablet but which has reduced the frames to a minimum and has included everything you need a phone you (basically, the implementation of call).
It is true that Samsung has dared in some models of tablets to include phone and put the physical button that characterizes its smartphones, but was in a way something rough (we do this and already is). But Huawei with the MediaPad X 1 has a clear intention: having a hybrid between tablet and phone.

To see videos of something longer than a capsule a tablet is much better and we could have a segment of the population that does not matter you have a 7 inch mobile and avoid thus having to carry two devices.

Second brands do well
Another trend that we have seen in MWC 2014 is that, apart from the major brands and the Chinese pushing strong (Huawei and ZTE), we increasingly second row terminals that have very good. And for my there is one that stands out above, Wiko.
WIKO has made an impressive display at MWC 2014, introducing four new terminals. And they do not, as many brands of second row, with a few terminals of middle and low ranges, they directly attacked the high range, with scores in the benchmarks that impress and finished premium would be blushing for some owners of terminals supposedly high end. And of course with very attractive prices.
