Alcatel OneTouch Go Play

Toniamo today to tell you about a smartphone Alcate line Go: Alcatel OneTouch Go Play. It is a low end smartphone has the same hardware as the Moto G 2015 but not able to offer the same performance and quality. Let’s find out together in the full review:
Hardware, Materials and ergonomics:
Alcatel OneTouch Go Play is based on 410 Snapdragon processor, 1 GB RAM and 8 GB of expandable memory. Minimal resources to stay in the range of 200 € and that equate to the basic model of Bike G 2015. The display is a 5 inch HD and we find a 2500mAh battery.

  • Dimensions: 143.3 x 73.3 x 9.2 mm
  • Weight: 151 g
  • SoC: Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8916 410
  • CPU: ARM Cortex-A53, 1200 MHz, quad core
  • GPU: Qualcomm Adreno 306, 400 MHz
  • RAM: 1 GB, 533 MHz
  • Internal memory: 8 GB
  • Memory cards: microSD
  • Display: 5 inch, IPS, 1280 x 720 pixels
  • Battery: 2500 mAh
  • Operating system: Android 5.0.2 Lollipop
  • Camera: 8MP
  • Micro- SIM Card: SIM
  • Wi-Fi: b, g, n, Wi-Fi Hotspot
  • USB: 2.0, Micro USB
  • Bluetooth: 4.1
  • Navigation: GPS, A-GPS

In his hand is held very well by not being big and having a rubber cover that greatly increases the grip. It is in fact a smartphone IP67 certified which allows to withstand drops and dive without too much trouble. Assembling good but flaps covering the connectors a little uncomfortable.
Display:
The Panel used by° Alcatel is a 5 inch HD good quality General and it does not disappoint expectations. Compared to other smartphones like the quality remains good although not the best 5 inches in this category. HD resolution is adequate for the market segment and the colour palette is well reproduced in virtually all conditions. Let’s talk about IPS technology and a touch good enough.
Drums, Audio and reception:
With 2500mAh available and a hardware not particularly energy-intensive it is logical to expect good performance for the autonomy and so you can get to Go Play … Alcatel OneTouch evening without too much trouble as long as you don’t rush in daily operation since the smartphone is quite slow in all software.
Alcatel has never disappointed from the point of view of quality and receiving this Go performs well. In capsule volume is good and also through vivacoce too strong compared to the magnitude of the case, so much so that at maximum volume tends to skew a bit.
Receiving without problems but lacks the NFC and the 5 GHz band for Wi-Fi connectivity, which for 200 € we might want.
Software:
The system is based on a relatively new distribution and Lollipop Android 5.0.2 acceptable although 5.1.1 anyway would have been nice. Alcatel has really custom Android as it has posted only its own launcher and little else. Unfortunately the performances are far from Moto G 2015 and in this case the optimization plays an important role since the resources available are not many.
The phone is generally slow to open programs and in moving between applications. Also with a bit of multitasking it undermines the little RAM denoting a certain difficulty in controlling processes. You will need to close via task manager multiple times the list of running apps/recent.
A shame given that the hardware would not be so disastrous and the aesthetics of the phone is nice. We hope in any software update that will improve the situation because other brands can do much better at comparable specs.
Internet is only available with the stock browser as Chrome has often blocks and major delays. Finally good proprietary applications even though the store and content not Gameloft would be needed and would be considered as added values.
Camera and Multimedia:
Good 8 megapixel camera that allows you to shoot images of acceptable quality. Not bad even the management software, well structured and customized by Alcatel. The focus is not slow and turns out to be quite accurate. Great macros, minus the views but overall acceptable and in line with expectations.
Media interesting part that is well made and fairly fast proprietary applications. Unfortunately the volume of multimedia content is less tall than the speaker but at least not croaks at maximum power. The internal memory is not particularly large but few games you can install. The graphics come to enough. The FM radio.
Conclusions:
Alcatel OneTouch Go Play belongs to that segment of products that you see in a mall considers interesting, aesthetically pleasing, assembled well and with a technical sheet all round good relative to the price. Unfortunately when tested it soon becomes clear that the fabric is not that of “champion” and that there are still many workouts to do hoping that Alcatel does not abandon this product. In short, an interesting potential, an unsatisfactory result. Best Idol 3!
